I liked the product fine until the last update. It locked up my site and I had to restore. Lost a weeks worth of work. I am now back to the previous version. I’ll be careful before I use the next update.

      Leo,

All I changed in the last version was to give the user the ability to customize the credit card icon on the checkout page, I sincerely doubt that Striper was the cause of your issue.

      Hey Leo,

I was wrong there, as some other user’s have reported, I deduced that the problem is the new style ternary operator only works in version 5.3 and above, and most likely you have PHP 5.2 or below.

I commited the change to the old style which should fix for you, as v0.24.

      Cheers,

      Sean

    Hi Sean,

I actually use your awsome plugin.

I had a question, when a cutomers cancel her/his subscription, the refund is automatic ?
Or I must refund the client from my Stripe Account ?

    Thank you.

    • Sean Voss

      (verified owner):

Hey sherazade, there’s no subscription built into the plugin (yet) it’s actually the next thing I plan to write. A contributor wrote some code for me to get it started, actually creating a user account on stripe, so next I’ll follow through and build subscriptions in.

As far as I know this would be first free / open source way to circumvent both woo-subscriptions which is paid and their official stripe that is paid.

      Look for it soon!

Striper is a wonderful plugin, it enabled me to kick off my first online store and automate the whole credit card thing. Unfortunately the latest update seems to have broken the checkout, especially while using other payment methods alongside it.

The symptom: if I select another method, say PayPal, pressing the “Place order” button doesn’t do anything now. Disabling the Striper plugin restores “Place order” functionality.

      Hey Chris,

I just responded on wordpress, do you have a URL I can diagnose?

      Cheers,

    Hi Sean –
I am trying to install striper on a site that has the most WooCommerce 2.1.2. When I activate the plugin the admin screen goes white and the only way I can get in is to FTP in and remove the plugin by hand. Any thoughts?
Thanks so much for your help!

      Hey Dennis,

A friend of mine had that happen, do you by chance not have CURL installed with your version of PHP.

Otherwise do you have a way to get at your error_log, it will give me the necessary info to help you.

      Cheers,

      Sean

  8. Dennis

    :

    yes – Curl is installed.

Ok, can you paste the stack trace from the error so I can diagnose? Without something to go on, it will be very difficult to help you.

      Thanks,

      Sean

Hey Sean ! wanted to get in touch with you about the plugin. I doesn’t get along with my website program.
Am using wordpress, woocommerce. It seem to corrupt WP. It will not process orders and will not work in conjunction with COD setting. Try to place an order and it just acts like you never or didn’t complete to form and records no data in WP/Woo. I am not a developer but have just about every combination possible, so I am about to the point of moving on to something that work. Maybe It works with stripe.com forms – I don’t know.
I really wished this plugin would function properly due that it should go direct to stripe.com
May you can come up with a fix. Thanks!

      Hey Bobby,

Can you give me some more details, perhaps a URL where I can see what’s going on?

  14. Bobby

    :

Thanks Sean for your reply. The url: http://www.hawgchocks.com
At this moment the plugin is deactivated — was concerned about what negative effects might develop.
I know you have sent hours, days, maybe months to produce this plugin, so respect there! Just would be the thing if the bugs were worked out.

Hi Sean – Please let me know if you can give some insight to the issue above. Thanks.

    :

    Hello,
    Thanks for creating this plugin!
Is there a way to automatically capture a payment rather than having to manually login the Stripe Dashboard to capture it? Where can I change this option?

Our website was created in WordPress and we are using Woocommerce. Thanks!

    • Sean Voss

      (verified owner):

If you turn off “Auth and Capture” the payment is captured automatically.

      Cheers,

      Sean

Before installing Striper, the customer was taken to a Thank You page after placing an order. After installing Striper, when the order is placed (using Striper), it takes the customer to an empty cart page. Which file do I edit to change where the customer goes after checking out with Striper? Thanks!
